Vitor Pereira Nears Coaching Nottingham Forest
Thursday 12-02-2026
Sky Sports reported that Portuguese coach Vítor Pereira has agreed to take on the role of head coach for Nottingham Forest, succeeding Sean Dyche, who was dismissed just 114 days after assuming the position.

The decision to dismiss Dyche came after a goalless draw against Wolverhampton, a match that left the team just three points away from the relegation zone, with 12 rounds remaining until the end of the season.

The same source mentioned that the final details of the contract are still being completed, but it is almost certain that Pereira will take on the role at City Ground, making him the fourth coach for the team this season.

Pereira took over as coach of Wolverhampton in December 2024 and succeeded in keeping the team in the Premier League last season, before being dismissed at the start of the current season after a shaky beginning.

Nottingham Forest is preparing to face Fenerbahçe in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League playoff next week, along with strong league matches against Liverpool, Brighton, and Manchester City.

The club management's swift action comes in light of its desire to correct the course, especially with increasing criticism regarding the team's offensive performance, despite the significant spending during the last summer transfer window.
