Barcelona Reassures Its Fans About Koundé's Future Amid English Interest
Thursday 12-02-2026
Jules Koundé has become one of the most sought-after defenders in the transfer market, with several major European clubs showing interest in the player, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport." Liverpool has made Koundé a priority, while Chelsea remains interested in him since his time at Sevilla, considering him a strategic element for their sports project.

The newspaper clarified that Barcelona is reassured about Koundé's full commitment to the club, as he has clearly prioritized the Catalan team despite external pressures. He recently renewed his contract until 2030, which is safeguarded by a release clause of one billion euros.

The report indicated that Liverpool is prepared to make an offer of up to 80 million euros to strengthen its defense after the issues faced this season, while Chelsea will continue its attempts to sign him this summer following the failure of its previous bids and competition with Barcelona.

Kounde primarily plays as a right-back in most of Barcelona's matches, and with the arrival of Joao Cancelo, he will receive additional rest periods. Despite his fluctuating performance in recent weeks, coach Hans Flick fully trusts him as a starter, and he is considered one of the players not for sale in the upcoming market.
