The Portuguese defender Danilo Pereira of Al-Ittihad stirred controversy about his future after leaving the decision entirely in the hands of the club's management, affirming that the matter of his staying with the "Tigers" is not directly up to him.

Pereira spoke after the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Gharafa, clarifying that the matter of his continuation is purely an administrative issue, noting that the final decision belongs to the Jeddah club officials.

The Portuguese defender responded to a question about his future by saying briefly: "This question should be directed to the club's management," clearly indicating that he is waiting for an official decision.

Pereira also praised the fan support during the match against Qatar's Al Gharafa, affirming that the team's strength comes from the stands. He expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the team and expressed his hope that this support would continue until the end of the season.

Al-Ittihad achieved a wide victory over Al-Gharafa with a score of seven to zero, in the seventh round of the AFC Champions League for the elite, at the Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The goals were scored by Houssem Aouar, who achieved a hat-trick, Roger Fernandes with a brace, in addition to one goal each from Youssef En-Nesyri and Danilo Pereira.

The union secured qualification to the round of 16 of the tournament after raising its tally to 12 points, placing it fifth in the Western group, with four victories against three defeats.
