Al-Ittihad Club is close to regaining the services of its Dutch professional, Steven Bergwijn, as he nears the completion of the rehabilitation program he underwent following his calf muscle injury.

Bergwijn is expected to join Al-Ittihad's group training sessions once he completes his rehabilitation program and undergoes medical and physical tests to ensure his full readiness.

The training session held on Sunday evening witnessed Bergwijn running on the sidelines of the group training, under the supervision of the team's physical and fitness staff.

The 28-year-old Dutch player has had a significant presence this season, participating in 20 matches with Al-Ittihad, during which he scored 8 goals and assisted 2 goals over 1,644 minutes of play.

Bergwijn missed the last five matches for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Roshn League against Al-Qadsiah, Al-Okhdood, Al-Fateh, Al-Najma, and Al-Nassr due to injury.

In a related context, Al-Ittihad is preparing to host Qatar's Al-Gharafa on Tuesday evening at 9:15, as part of the seventh round of the group stage in the AFC Champions League for the elite.
