The Algerian club USM Alger secured its qualification to the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup after achieving a valuable away victory against Ivorian team San Pedro with a score of three goals to two, in the match that took place today, Sunday, as part of the fifth round of the group stage.

The representative of Algerian football entered the match strongly and succeeded in imposing its rhythm from the first minutes, confirming its superiority in the group and continuing its positive performances in the continental competition.

USM Alger's goals were scored by defender Che Malonga, followed by midfielder Likonza adding the second goal, and substitute forward Mohamed Bouderbala completing the hat-trick in injury time.

On the other hand, USM Alger's goalkeeper Kamal Soufi conceded two goals from the Ivorian team, without affecting the final outcome of the match.

With this victory, USM Alger raised their tally to four wins in five matches, securing their passage to the quarter-finals with one round remaining in the group stage.

The Algerian team is scheduled to conclude its journey in this stage on February 15, when it hosts Olympique Safi in a formal match after both teams have secured qualification, while San Pedro from Ivory Coast and Djoliba Bamako from Mali have been eliminated from the competition.
