The management of Al-Ittihad Club has begun serious steps to ensure the team's stability by retaining influential foreign players, following the significant changes the roster underwent during the last winter transfer period.

Recently, French player Karim Benzema transferred to Al-Hilal on a one-and-a-half-season contract, in addition to the sale of the remaining duration of N'Golo Kante's contract to the Turkish club Fenerbahçe.

According to the French network "Foot Mercato," the management of the club has prioritized renewing the contracts of key players, with a focus on the duo Danilo Pereira and Steven Bergwijn.

Club officials are preparing to open negotiations with Pereira and Bergwijn in the coming days, as part of a plan aimed at building a balanced team that maintains its competitive strength.

The Portuguese Danilo Pereira, aged 34, is under a contract that ends at the conclusion of the current season, while the Dutchman Steven Bergwijn, who is 28 years old, has a contract extending for an additional season and a half.

The reports confirmed that the duo shows a clear desire to continue with the club, which gives the management a strong boost to secure their stay as part of the team's future project.

Pereira participated in 28 matches with Al-Ittihad since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024, while Bergwijn played 20 matches this season, during which he scored 8 goals and provided two assists.
