Statements by Torop Following Al Ahly's Draw with the National Bank
Wednesday 04-02-2026
Yves Torup, the coach of Al-Ahly, spoke about his team's draw against Al-Bank Al-Ahly in the Premier League.

The match between Al Ahly and Al Ahly Bank, which took place on Tuesday evening in the 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League, ended in a 1-1 draw.

Torop said in the press conference following the match: "We lost two points today, the second consecutive match where we concede a goal from a set piece. We played against a team that defends strongly and in an organized manner."

He confirmed: "I usually don't talk about a specific player, but today I need to talk about Trezeguet. He performed excellently and fought hard, giving everything he had and trying to help the team achieve victory despite the fatigue and the back-to-back matches."

He continued: "I'm frustrated about losing two points in the league race, but we have a very important match in the African Champions League."

He confirmed: "I deal with all the new players to inform them about our style of play. As for Belamri, he was with us on the trip to Tanzania, and I talked to him about our playing style. However, the player has been without participation for about six weeks, and I also have Koka and Shoukry in the same position."

He added: "We need to give Belamri the opportunity to get to know the team, and for us to get to know him as well. Certainly, I am the one who chooses the signings that have come, and I also decide who leaves."

Regarding the impact of Imam Ashour's absence, he replied: "I will not talk about a player who is not with me now. My focus is only on the players who are with me in the match. These are the players I have, and I will try to rotate between them to reduce fatigue."
