Al-Hilal Awaits Genoa Star in Anticipation of Maité Deal Complications
Thursday 29-01-2026
Al Hilal Club took a precautionary step during the current winter transfer market by including the name of a new player in its plans, in anticipation of potential setbacks in negotiations with one of its European targets.

Al Hilal is monitoring the Italian forward Jeff Ikator, a player from Genoa, in preparation for a potential signing in January 2026, as the management seeks to strengthen the team's attacking line.

Born in 2006, Ekator is one of the young names that have caught attention within Genoa Club and is being directly monitored by Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, the head coach of Al-Hilal team.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, a correspondent for "Sky Sports," revealed that Al Hilal has considered Jeff Ikator as an alternative option in case the deal for French player Mohamed Kader Maite from Rennes fails to materialize.

Ecuador succeeded in scoring three goals during the first half of the season, with two goals in the Italian league against Napoli and Roma, in addition to a goal in the Italian Cup.

The young striker participated in 45 matches wearing the Genoa jersey across various competitions, during which he scored four goals and provided one assist, reflecting his gradual development with the first team.

It is noted that Ekator was promoted from Genoa's academy to the first team in September 2024, and his market value is estimated at around 7.5 million euros, according to the global site "Transfermarkt."
