Al-Shahmani Announces Decision to Resign from Police Administration at the End of the Current Season
Ali Al-Shahmani, a member of the Iraqi Police Club's administration, revealed his decision to resign from his position at the end of the current football season, due to what he described as repeated abuses he faced from some of the club's fans in the past period.
Al-Shahmani explained in media statements that his decision came as a result of the psychological pressures and personal abuses he endured, amid the negative results the team experienced recently, emphasizing that these attacks exceeded the boundaries of sports criticism.
Al-Shahmani said: “I have decided to resign from the Police Club's administration at the end of the current season due to the abuses of some fans. I am a man of my word, and I will not back down from my decision. If I remain in the position, it means that I am indeed benefiting as rumored,” clearly indicating his adherence to his decision and his rejection of the circulating rumors about him.
He added that administrative work in clubs should be based on mutual respect and support, pointing out that destructive criticism negatively affects the stability of the club and the administrative system in general.
Al-Shahmani clarified that the Police team went through a difficult period in terms of results, but has recently started returning to the path of victories, confirming that the current improvement reflects the great work being done by the technical staff and players despite the surrounding circumstances.
He concluded his remarks by affirming that he will continue to support the Police Club even after leaving the administrative position, wishing the team success in its future endeavors, and stressing that the club's interest remains above any personal considerations.
