A positive 1-1 draw settled the match between Al-Shorta and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya teams in the meeting that brought them together within the Iraqi Stars League competitions for the thirteenth round, amid a distinguished crowd presence that added a highly competitive atmosphere to the match.

The first half witnessed a relative advantage for Al-Shorta team, as they managed to open the scoring in the 24th minute through their Syrian star Mahmoud Al-Mawas, granting his team the lead before the first half ended with the Green Harp leading by one goal to none.

In the second half, the dynamics of the match changed as Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya intensified their attacks and imposed continuous pressure on Al-Shorta’s goal, seeking to equalize the score, amid a relative decline in Al-Shorta’s performance and their reliance on defensive organization.

The Falcons’ pressure resulted in the equalizing goal in the 81st minute by player Issam Al-Subhi, bringing the match back to square one, and the remaining minutes continued without any change in the result despite both teams’ attempts.

With this result, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya raised their points to 25 in third place, while Al-Shorta reached the same points (25) in second place, ahead on goal difference, as both teams continue their battle for the top positions in the Iraqi Stars League standings.
