Carrasco Settles the Debate in the Al-Ittihad and Al-Shabab Exchange Deal
The management of Al-Ittihad Club has moved to explore completing a swap deal with Al-Shabab, aiming to sign the Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco during the current winter transfer window.
Media reports revealed that the federation made an official offer to Al-Shabab, based on a swap deal involving Carrasco in exchange for three players from the ranks of Al-Ittihad.
The "Malaeb" program on Al Arabiya FM radio clarified that the management of Al-Ittihad presented the names of Moussa Diaby, Saleh Al-Shehri, and Abdulrahman Al-Aboud as part of the negotiation details with Al-Shabab.
The negotiations unexpectedly came to a halt after Carrasco expressed his refusal to transfer to Al-Ittihad, preferring to return to European fields in the upcoming period.
The Belgian player justified his position by expressing his desire to enhance his chances of being called up for his national team, considering that playing in Europe facilitates his international selection.
Carrasco, who is 32 years old, is under an extended contract with Al Shabab Club until June 2028, and his market value is estimated at around 6 million euros.
The young winger participated in 17 matches across various competitions this season, successfully scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists.
