Walid Salah El-Din: Al-Ahly Did Not Officially Negotiate with Hamed Hamdan
Sunday 25-01-2026
Walid Salah El-Din, the football director at Al-Ahly, revealed that the Red Club has not entered into official negotiations to sign Hamed Hamdan from Petrojet.

He explained on "On Sport" channel that the coaching staff always has several names and options in front of them, emphasizing that this does not mean entering into official negotiations or bidding wars for players. The football director added that "there is a big difference between considering a specific player and entering into an official competition to sign him."

The director of football at Al-Ahly pointed out that football is based on the principle of "permutations and combinations," due to technical considerations related to player positions and alternative options. He emphasized that having a large number of prominent players in certain positions within the team makes it difficult to recruit new players in these specific positions.

He added: "Al-Ahly has not entered any bidding for any player recently, and some positions are experiencing a significant surplus of talented players, which prompts the technical staff to study the needs very carefully."

Walid Salah El-Din concluded his remarks by emphasizing that Al-Ahly Club's policy is based on long-term future planning, which includes recruiting experienced and technically ready players, in addition to attracting young and promising talents who can significantly contribute to the team in the future.
