Adly El-Keiy Comments on the Competition between Al-Ahly and Pyramids to Sign Al-Fakhouri
Sunday 25-01-2026
Adly Al-Qaei, the former chairman of Al Ahly Football Company, spoke about the competition between Al Ahly and Pyramids to sign Awda Al-Fakhouri, the star of the Jordanian club Al-Hussein Irbid.

Adly Al-Qeai said during the "Football with Faik" program on MBC Egypt 2: "Why are we focusing on one or two deals? There are many deals that Al-Ahly completes, and we don't know if Pyramids was involved in them or not. However, sometimes after successfully signing a player, some people promote the idea that they snatched a deal from Al-Ahly."

He added: "Let's assume that Pyramids Club took some deals from Al Ahly, what's the problem? Zamalek entered into three deals and they took them. The point is whether you're building correctly or not."

He continued: "At one point, Enppi was acquiring deals from Al Ahly and Zamalek, but circumstances change."

Regarding his opinion on the competition for the Fakhoury deal, Al-Qaei said: "Al-Ahly doesn't pay attention to Pyramids or Zamalek; it doesn't look at the other party."

He continued: "If we turn the deal into something that touches on dignity, we'll handle it like the traders at the Wekalet El Balah market. Two people enter an auction starting at 100,000 and ending at 10 million, for their dignity. No one shows off here; the feasibility study will determine whether it's a successful deal or not, whether the player is young or old, and whether the club will benefit from reselling him in the future or not."

He pointed out: "Fakhouri is a distinguished player with skills, but his success is not guaranteed. Al Ahly previously signed the Tunisian player Christo, who played for the Tunisian national team and joined Al Ahly's first team. He is a good player, but Al Ahly needs a player who can make a difference."
