Kompany: Frustrated by the Result More Than the Performance, I Can Live Without This
Saturday 24-01-2026
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany appeared in press statements to the media following the 2-1 loss against Augsburg in the 19th round of the Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena.

The coach said: "This result is dedicated to those who always knew that the Bundesliga is not easy, and that every match carries risks. We were stable in the first half, but without much creativity."

He added: "It was a match where you say: Okay, we played 5 matches in 13 days, and maybe today we get a result without putting on a show. I am more disappointed with the result than the performance. We were in a good position but we let it slip. We couldn't show the same energy we had in previous matches during the second half. Congratulations to Augsburg. This is part of football. Now the important thing is to show a reaction."

He elaborated on the condition of the injured players: "When you play 7 matches in 20 days, any player who is out for a week will miss 3 matches. And when they return, they need time to regain full readiness. This is not an excuse; of course, I wish everyone were ready, but there are no long-term injuries. We shouldn't look for excuses; we have to fight as we are used to and achieve results despite the circumstances."

He concluded on whether the loss was bitter because it ended the chance of winning the title without defeat: "Not exactly. If we remain unbeaten for another ten months, that would be good for me. I want to achieve a lot with this club and in my career as a coach, but for me personally, this achievement would be for the players, and I just want to support them. I don't want to sound philosophical, but these are truly my thoughts. I can live without an unbeaten season, as long as we continue winning titles and achieving success."
