Eto'o Reveals Details of Cameroon's Withdrawal Proposal from Match Against Morocco
Samuel Eto'o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, revealed that there was consideration of withdrawing his national team from the field during their match against Morocco in the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025," emphasizing that the situation was difficult and charged with emotions.
Eto'o said in statements to France 24: "I don't want to accuse the referees, but there are incidents that will remain stuck in our minds. CAF must study the mistakes and take appropriate measures, but don't forget that referees are human like us."
He added: "Emotions were running high during the Cameroon-Morocco match, and one of my teammates suggested that I pull the team off the field. I could have made that decision impulsively."
The president of the Cameroonian federation concluded his statements by praising the courageous approach of the Senegalese national team coach, saying: "I don't think I would accuse the Senegal coach; on the contrary, he had the courage to stand up for his team. He took a risk, and such risks must be taken. In the end, Senegal won, and that is what I want to remember."
