Arsenal secured an important victory against their host Chelsea in the first leg of the English League Cup semi-final, in a strong match held at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal dominated the game and scored their goals at crucial moments to ensure an advantage ahead of the second leg at the Emirates Stadium.

In his post-match comments, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said: "We played against a very good team in a very difficult stadium. I am proud of what the team showed during the match."

He continued: "You want to start the semifinal matches, and all the work you have done throughout the season to reach this stage must be evident on the field, and we have definitely succeeded in that."

The Spanish coach added, "What we do every three days is very impressive and shows great commitment from the players."

Regarding Kai Havertz's return and the availability of more attacking options, Arteta explained: "This raises the level, and we need them. They will have a very important role. There will be playing time for everyone with so many matches, so I am happy to have them with us."
