Details of Real Madrid Manager's Meeting with Players After Alonso's Dismissal

Journalist Ido Aguirre revealed details of the meeting held by José Ángel Sánchez, the general manager of Real Madrid, with the team players following the decision to dismiss coach Xabi Alonso.

According to Aguirre, the players were called in last night after the club representative, Chendo, sent a message to all team members, instructing them to come to the sports city at 9:30 a.m., even though the training session was scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

He explained that the purpose of this early call was to hold a meeting inside the locker room before going out onto the field to start training.

The meeting was attended by José Ángel Sánchez, who was the first speaker. His talk lasted only about five minutes, without delivering a lengthy speech. He simply explained what had happened with Xabi Alonso the previous day, saying to the players: "We spoke with Xabi yesterday and mutually agreed that he must leave. There were issues that did not benefit us, and it was better to change course."

Sanchez added, "We want to thank Xavi for everything he has contributed, but he also made it clear that the time has come for a change."

After that, Álvaro Arbeloa took the floor to speak to the players, but he too kept his speech brief before the meeting ended and the team headed to the scheduled training session.
