Alonso's Farewell Message After Leaving Real Madrid
Former Spanish coach Xabi Alonso posted a farewell message on his official Instagram account after being dismissed from his position as Real Madrid's coach yesterday, Monday, just 24 hours after the loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.
Alonso wrote in his letter: "This chapter of my career has come to an end, and it did not go as we had hoped. Coaching Real Madrid was both an honor and a responsibility."
He added: "I thank the club and the players, and above all the fans and Madridistas for their trust and support. I leave with all respect, gratitude, and pride for what I have contributed."
Real Madrid announced the appointment of Castilla coach Álvaro Arbeloa as the first team coach until the end of the current season.
