Spalletti: This is What Matters to Me, and We Have Not Yet Reached the Level of Napoli and Inter

Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance following their comprehensive 5-0 victory over Cremonese, while also emphasizing that his team still needs to improve in order to reach the level of Inter and Napoli.

Spalletti said in a press statement: "I just want to point out that, from my perspective, I don't think the two penalty kicks in this match should have been awarded."

Regarding the team's overall performance, the Italian coach explained: "When you take on this kind of work, there are always surprises, positive or negative, because the field is what speaks. We controlled the match, delivered a good performance, and had the necessary hunger against an opponent who knows exactly what they are doing."

He added: "Davide Nicola is an experienced coach in the Italian league, and his team is organized and ready to fight. With a bit of luck, we managed to score an early goal, but on the other hand, we were unlucky with the penalty kick that hit the post. Overall, we were in control, despite some fluctuations that are difficult to overcome."

Regarding Juventus entering the race for the league title, Spalletti emphasized: "I watched the Inter vs. Napoli match, and it was top-level football—open, attacking, and with a clear character that reflects the coaches' ideas. I believe we need to improve many aspects to reach their level, and we must take these steps quickly."

He continued: "I saw a great effort from the players, and this gives me confidence that we are capable of developing and improving."

As for his contractual future with Juventus: "I have already said that I am the only person who doesn't need a contract right now. If I have to start over, I will hope to find a new team. We discussed this matter from the beginning with the management, so I am not interested in the contract."

He emphasized: "What truly matters to me is to see these players give me the same passion and enjoyment that I felt for football when I was a child and later as a coach. That is the real difference for me."

Spalletti concluded his remarks by referring to his extensive experience, saying: "I am getting older now, and my children always remind me of that, so it's difficult to change the way I think. But we must try to keep up with the times, especially with players who possess strength and sharpness, as they are the key factor in determining how far we can go."
