Statement from FAF Regarding Elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations

The Algerian Football Federation issued a statement following the national team's elimination from the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations against Nigeria, in which it affirmed its respect for the match result, while calling on the national team's fans to continue supporting the team during the upcoming phase, amid what it described as a rebuilding stage the team is going through.

In the same context, the Algerian Football Federation clarified that it has recorded its reservations regarding some refereeing decisions during the last match, which raised widespread questions, considering that they affected the course of the game. It announced that it has sent an official complaint to the Confederation of African Football and the International Federation of Association Football, accompanied by a request to open an investigation according to the applicable regulations.

The federation concluded its statement by affirming its commitment to continue working on evaluating the participation and drawing necessary lessons, aiming to enhance performance in upcoming commitments, utilizing the available human, technical, and organizational capabilities.
