The obstacle concerns the player's agent fees, as Milan aims to finalize the negotiations before signing the new contract to avoid any potential departure of Maignan as a free agent next June. Once this point is agreed upon, the goalkeeper will officially become part of the team until 2030.

It is worth noting that Maignan has delivered outstanding performances this season, conceding only 17 goals in 21 matches across all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in 10 games, and saving two penalty kicks, highlighting his importance in the Rossoneri lineup.
