A Final Obstacle for Milan to Extend Maignan's Contract
Sunday 11-01-2026
The newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport" reported that AC Milan's French goalkeeper Mike Maignan has agreed to extend his contract with the club until 2030, but there is one final obstacle preventing the official announcement of the deal.

The obstacle concerns the player's agent fees, as Milan aims to finalize the negotiations before signing the new contract to avoid any potential departure of Maignan as a free agent next June. Once this point is agreed upon, the goalkeeper will officially become part of the team until 2030.

It is worth noting that Maignan has delivered outstanding performances this season, conceding only 17 goals in 21 matches across all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in 10 games, and saving two penalty kicks, highlighting his importance in the Rossoneri lineup.

According to the same source, the relationship between the club and Maignan is very good, and signing the contract is just a matter of time, especially after the significant role played by coach Massimiliano Allegri in convincing the goalkeeper to stay.

The final challenge for Milan remains reaching a final agreement with Maignan's agent, which will determine when the official announcement of the French goalkeeper's contract extension will be made.
