Friday 02-01-2026
Italian club Inter Milan has entered advanced negotiations with Saudi club Al Hilal to sign Portuguese full-back João Cancelo during the current winter transfer window.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira revealed that Inter Milan is seeking to sign Cancelo on a six-month loan as part of strengthening the team's right flank.

Shira explained that Al Hilal club showed flexibility in the negotiations, being willing to cover a large portion of Cancelo's salary during the potential loan period.

Cancelo has tentatively decided to leave Al Hilal, preferring to return to European football, while his agent Jorge Mendes is working to finalize the deal quickly.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the talks between Al Hilal and Inter Milan are making significant progress, with multiple ideas being exchanged to draft the final agreement.

Romano pointed out that the name of defender Francesco Acerbi is being discussed, as coach Simone Inzaghi is keen on signing him for Al Hilal this winter.

The reports concluded by emphasizing that the final decision rests with Cancelo, with Barcelona being aware of the possibility of signing him, but no official offer has been made so far.
