Inter Milan is aiming to regain its former player João Cancelo during the winter transfer window, according to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport".

The Italian club plans to benefit from Al Hilal's willingness to contribute to part of the player's salary, which amounts to 15 million euros annually.

Cancelo, who previously played for Inter in the 2017/2018 season, now faces an important decision regarding his European future before the World Cup next summer. Initially, he was leaning towards Barcelona, but he has become more interested in returning to Inter Milan after realizing that the financial obstacle related to his salary is not significant for Inter.

Al Hilal has expressed readiness to contribute a large part of his salary, which reduces the financial burden on Inter. The club would only need to pay a net 3 million euros, while Al Hilal would cover the rest. This move gives the Italian management great optimism about completing the deal.

Inter's management is in continuous contact with the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, to ensure Cancelo's agreement to return to the team. The deal aims to strengthen the right flank in the absence of Dumfries, making time a crucial factor to finalize the transfer before major European clubs intervene.
