Al-Ittihad Saudi Club has finalized its position regarding the offer from the Russian league to sign the Dutch winger Steven Bergwijn, a player of the first football team, during the current period.

According to the program "Action with Walid," the club received an official offer from the Russian club CSKA Moscow to sign Bergwijn, a move that sparked interest in the sports community.

The officials of Al-Ittihad Club, after reviewing the submitted offer, decided to reject it outright, preferring to keep Bergwijn as part of the team in the upcoming phase.

The club's insistence on keeping the player comes in light of his influential role, as Bergwijn scored an important goal in Al-Ittihad's 2-0 victory over Al-Shabab in the top match of the eleventh round of the Roshn Saudi League.

Bergwijn joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023, coming from Dutch club Ajax, on a contract lasting three seasons, keeping him with the team until the summer of 2027.

The Dutch winger participated in 43 matches wearing the Al-Ittihad jersey across various competitions, during which he managed to score 19 goals and provide 9 assists.

The rejection of the Russian offer reflects the Union's management's desire to maintain the team's stability, especially given the heavy reliance on Bergwijn as one of the key players in the attacking line.
