Fabinho Refuses to Return to the Brazilian League Currently
Brazilian Fabinho Tavares, midfielder for the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, has settled his stance on the idea of returning to the Brazilian league in the near future, following rumors linking him to a transfer to Fluminense.
The Brazilian website "Globo" reported that Fluminense club has made initial contact with Fabinho to inquire about his contractual status and the possibility of his return to Brazilian football.
The website explained that the Al-Ittihad midfielder informed Fluminense officials of his unwillingness to return to the Brazilian league at this time, which led to the negotiations being halted and not continuing.
Fabinho joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023, coming from English club Liverpool, on a three-season contract. Although his name had previously been linked with several Brazilian clubs, including Palmeiras, Bahia, and Corinthians, financial considerations remain the biggest obstacle to his return, given the high salary he receives from the Saudi club.
Fabinho is 32 years old and is under contract with Al-Ittihad until the summer of 2026, with his contract entering the free period next January.
