Hossam Hassan after the victory over South Africa: I will not comment on refereeing decisions
Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, spoke about the victory the Pharaohs achieved over South Africa this Friday evening.
Egypt defeated South Africa 1-0 in the second round of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations, securing their qualification for the round of 16 in the tournament.
Hossam Hassan said in the press conference after the match: "I thank the Egyptian, Moroccan, and Arab fans for their support, and I also thank the players for their effort in today's game."
He continued: "We succeeded in securing three points against a strong team, South Africa, and the true quality of the Egyptian player shines through in difficult times."
He added: "No comment on the referees' decisions. I trust the continent's and the tournament's referees, and I do not interfere in their decisions."
He revealed: "My goal is to make the Egyptian people happy, and football is a source of joy for the Egyptian citizen. I play every match as if it were a cup final, and African football has become strong because of professionalism."
