Trezeguet: South Africa Match Is Important for Group Standings and We Are Playing to Win
Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, star of the Egyptian national team, confirmed that the Pharaohs are seeking revenge against the South African team in tomorrow's match.
The Egypt national team will face the South Africa national team tomorrow, Friday, in the second round of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Trezeguet said in the press conference before the match: "The match against South Africa is important for the group standings, and we are playing to win. We have studied the South African team and are ready to make the Egyptian fans happy."
The star player of Al-Ahly explained: "We always meet with the coaching staff and players to identify the positives and negatives in order to address them. As players, we have committed to achieving victory and to playing every match as if it were a cup final."
He continued: "In the match against Zimbabwe, we were the better team and managed to secure the win at the end of the game. We reached the Zimbabwean goal more than 33 times, which is a record. In training, we focused on the importance of capitalizing on attacks in upcoming matches and converting them into goals."
He added: "Exiting in the round of 16 of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations against South Africa is a bad memory, but we are ready for tomorrow's match."
