English star Marcus Rashford spoke about his difficult childhood and the pivotal role his mother played in raising him, revealing the real reasons behind his sensitivity towards vulnerable groups at risk of social exclusion and his commitment to humanitarian work.

Rashford said, "My mother raised us on her own—my brother, my sister, and me—and we all lived in the same house. That was our family. When I look back, I realize we were living in a difficult situation, but as a child, I was happy, and it felt normal to me."

He added, "I have never felt like an unhappy person or that I am living in difficult circumstances," emphasizing the importance of holding on to one's roots no matter how much the circumstances change.

He explained: "I believe that knowing where you come from is extremely important; you should never forget your roots, as they are part of your identity, no matter how far you go in life or your career."

Rashford spoke about his mother's struggles, saying: "Over time, I talked to her more about everything she was going through, and I realized that it was never easy for her at all."

He concluded his statements by emphasizing the humanitarian motivation driving him: "For this reason, as I have matured, I wanted to help other families going through similar circumstances. It's better to help at least one family than to do nothing."
