Amid Significant European Interest: Gerasi's Stance on Leaving Dortmund

Wednesday 13-05-2026
Sky Sports Network revealed that the Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy, a player for Borussia Dortmund, is close to making a decision to leave the team during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to the network, Guirassy's decision regarding his future has already been made, as the player wishes to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer if given the opportunity.

This comes despite him scoring 16 goals in the Bundesliga this season, as the player feels a degree of dissatisfaction. Despite his good relationship with coach Niko Kovac, he is not convinced by the style of play, prompting him to seek a new challenge after two seasons in which he scored 59 goals in 95 official matches.

Reports indicated that the 50 million euro release clause, which was previously disclosed, has become available to a number of major clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal, although none of these clubs have made an official offer yet.

Conversely, there is interest from other clubs such as AC Milan, Tottenham, and Fenerbahçe, noting that these clubs will need to negotiate directly with Borussia Dortmund if the release clause is not activated.

According to the same source, Borussia Dortmund is keen on keeping the player, as his contract extends until 2028, and they consider him a crucial element that is difficult to replace.

Reports also indicated attempts within the club to convince the player to stay, through discussions between the management and the technical staff led by Niko Kovac.

In a related context, journalist Nicolo Schira reported that Tottenham Hotspur has shown interest in signing Guirassy, with the possibility of moving if they secure their place in the English Premier League.

Guirassy's future remains open at this point, with his desire to leave on one hand, and Borussia Dortmund's attempts to retain him on the other.
