Perez Criticizes Vinicius' Substitution Against Sevilla
Wednesday 24-12-2025
Media reports indicated that Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, expressed his displeasure over the decision to substitute Brazilian star Vinicius Junior during the team's recent match against Sevilla, as part of the 17th round of the Spanish league.

According to circulated reports, cameras captured a video showing Perez dissatisfied with the substitution decision, where he commented, "Why did he take him out?" clearly indicating his disagreement with coach Xabi Alonso's choice to take Vinicius off in the 83rd minute of the match.

The match witnessed Vinicius being booed by Real Madrid fans, both during the game and at the moment he left the field, due to his recent decline in performance, which intensified the debate about the player's status and role within the team going forward.

The Brazilian star had previously sparked controversy after being substituted in the El Clasico against Barcelona last October, where he showed great anger upon leaving the match, before apologizing to his teammates, the coach, and the club president.

It is worth noting that Vinicius' contract with Real Madrid ends in the summer of 2027, and there are doubts regarding his continued stay at the club.
