Upamecano Sets Huge Financial Conditions to Renew His Contract with Bayern Munich

Negotiations for the renewal of French player Dayot Upamecano's contract with Bayern Munich have entered a complicated phase, due to the high financial demands set by the international defender in order to sign a new contract, according to the Spanish newspaper "AS."

The newspaper explained that Upamecano's representatives insisted on including a penalty clause worth 65 million euros, which would come into effect starting from the second year of the new contract.

In addition to receiving an annual salary of up to 16 million euros, along with bonuses that could reach 2 million euros, there is also a substantial signing bonus, similar to the one Alfonso Davies received when he recently renewed his contract.

The newspaper added that Upamecano's negotiating position is strengthening due to the significant interest he is receiving from several major European clubs, led by Real Madrid, along with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Manchester City—clubs capable of meeting his financial demands.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich remains cautiously optimistic about the possibility of reaching an agreement, as club officials are confident that negotiations will continue despite their complexity, especially since the French defender is considered a key pillar in the defense line. Meanwhile, the renewal issue remains open to all possibilities in the coming period.
