Kompany: This Week Was Like a COVID Week, and This Is How We Can Win Titles
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany appeared in a press statement following the 4-0 victory over Heidenheim in the fifteenth round of the German Bundesliga.
The coach said, "This week was like a COVID week; players were falling ill one after another. On the other hand, the other players trained very well and delivered an excellent performance today."
He added: "I am proud of the team because coming here and delivering this level of performance is not guaranteed. The young players have been training with us for some time, and it was clear that we would need them at some point."
He emphasized: "We have built a solid foundation for the second half of the season. We will take a break now and then continue working. Championships are decided in March and April, and we must be at our best when the time comes. We have to believe in ourselves, and then we will have a chance to win the titles."
He concluded about the first appearances of Kayala and Diaper: "Diaper and Kayala have been training with us for about eight months. They have always faced players like Harry Kane and Kimmich in training, gaining a lot of experience. We knew we could trust them."
