Osama Faisal's Position on Playing Against Zimbabwe
Sports broadcaster Khaled El-Ghandour, former Zamalek star, revealed the status of Osama Faisal, Egypt national team player, regarding his participation in the match against Zimbabwe in the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Al-Ghandour said on his program "Stad Al-Mahwar" that the player will undergo a medical examination to determine his final status regarding participation in the match.
Al-Ghandour added: "Osama Faisal is experiencing pain in his calf muscle, which led Hossam Hassan, the national team's head coach, to decide not to put pressure on the player by having him participate in group training sessions. Instead, he is following a light rehabilitation program, out of concern that the injury might worsen before the tournament kicks off."
He continued: "Osama Faisal's position will be finalized after the medical examination results. In general, Hossam Hassan has decided to start Mustafa Mohamed, the striker of French club Nantes, from the beginning of the match against Zimbabwe."
The match will take place next Monday at 10:00 PM Cairo time and 11:00 PM Mecca time.
