The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that a transfer deal between FC Barcelona and the Norwegian right-back Julian Ryerson, who plays for Borussia Dortmund, is currently unlikely, despite the player being listed among the Catalan club's interests.

According to the newspaper, Ryerson's name came to the forefront following reports from Sky Germany about Barcelona's interest in signing him to strengthen the right flank, as coach Hans Flick is looking for direct competition for Jules Koundé. However, the German newspaper Bild believes that completing the deal is difficult, despite initial contact between the two parties.

The report explained that Reyerson renewed his contract with Borussia Dortmund in 2024, extending it until the summer of 2028. He is also considered a regular starter, as only seven players have surpassed him in playing minutes this season, which motivates his club to refuse to let him go.

The report added that Dortmund's management considers the player an important asset within the team, due to his commitment and loyalty to the club, as well as his versatility in playing multiple roles. This complicates Barcelona's task, despite their interest, as there has been no tangible progress in the negotiations so far.
