Roberto Firmino: I Rejected Real Madrid for Al Ahli
Brazilian star Roberto Firmino, current player of Al Sadd SC, revealed the behind-the-scenes of his negotiations before moving to Al Ahli club, confirming that he received an offer from Real Madrid during the same period.
Firmino, former Liverpool player, said: "There was interest from Real Madrid, but I was not the first choice, and I had to wait. Then I received an offer from Al Ahli, so I found myself facing two options: wait or transfer."
He added: "I decided to transfer to Al Ahli, and I believe it was the right decision."
The experienced Brazilian star joined Saudi Al Ahli on a free transfer from Liverpool in 2023, before moving to Qatari club Al Sadd last summer for 7 million euros.
