Milan Approaches Renewal of Saelemaekers' Contract
Tuesday 16-12-2025
Milan club is close to finalizing the contract renewal of its Belgian player Alexis Saelemaekers, after reaching a preliminary agreement to extend his contract until the summer of 2030, according to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport".

The Italian newspaper explained in its report that the new contract includes raising Saelemaekers' salary from about 1.2 million euros annually to nearly 3 million euros per season, with the official announcement of the renewal expected in the coming days.

The player's current contract with Milan ends in the summer of 2027, which would have made him enter the final year of his contract by the end of the current season, prompting the Rossoneri management to act early to finalize the renewal.

Saelemaekers joined Milan in the winter of 2020 and played 111 matches in the Italian league during the first three and a half seasons before being loaned to Bologna and then to Roma in two consecutive seasons. During his loan period at Roma in the 2024/2025 season, he scored seven goals in 22 matches, which convinced coach Massimiliano Allegri to bring him back to the team.

Since his return, Saelemaekers has become one of Milan's most consistent players this season, starting in all fifteen league matches for the team and is considered an important element within the squad.
