UAE Qualifies for the Arab Cup Semifinals at the Expense of Algeria

The UAE national team achieved a valuable victory over their Algerian counterparts in a penalty shootout with a score of 7-6, after the original and extra time ended in a 1-1 draw, in the match held on Friday evening at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor city, as part of the Arab Cup quarterfinals.

The match started with an Algerian attempt to score, where Bedran scored a header in the 14th minute, but the referee canceled it due to offside.

In the 46th minute, the Algerian team opened the scoring through Adel Boulbina, taking advantage of a rebound from the UAE goalkeeper to place it in the net.

The UAE team succeeded in equalizing the score in the 64th minute, after a cross reached Bruno Conceição who managed to put it into the net.

After the original and extra time ended in a draw, the two teams resorted to penalty kicks, which ultimately favored the UAE with a score of 7-6, securing the UAE team's qualification ticket to the semifinals.

With this victory, the UAE team will face their Moroccan counterparts next Monday at Khalifa International Stadium, as part of the Arab Cup semifinals.
