Al-Naimat was carried off the field on a stretcher in the 15th minute of the match at the Education City Stadium after suffering a serious injury, suspected to be a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee. According to initial assessments by physical therapy specialists, the situation is very concerning and may jeopardize his participation in the 2026 World Cup finals.

Jamal Salami, the head coach of the Jordan national team, appeared deeply emotional in his post-match statements, seen crying on Dubai Sports Channel. He emphasized that the victory and qualification felt "tasteless" given the loss of one of the team's key players. Salami also said that Al-Naimat has delivered an exceptional performance and was one of the reasons the Nashama reached this stage.

Yazan Al-Naimat is considered one of the standout stars of the tournament, having contributed one goal and two assists in three matches. Meanwhile, the Jordanian national team is preparing for a tough match against Saudi Arabia on Monday, December 15, at Al Bayt Stadium as part of the semifinal competition.
