Khribin Congratulates Morocco After Qualification and Reveals Reason for Participating as a Substitute in the Arab Cup
Omar Khribin, a player of the Syrian national team, congratulated his Moroccan counterpart following the Atlas Lions' qualification to the Arab Cup semifinals, emphasizing that the Syrian team put up a strong fight against an opponent considered one of the top teams on the global stage.
Khribin said in a statement to Al Kass Qatar channel: "This is football. We gave our best, we congratulate Morocco on their victory, and we wish ourselves the best in the upcoming matches."
Khribin explained that he came on as a substitute due to an injury he was suffering from in his palm, adding: "I was playing despite a fracture in my palm. We thought the match might go into two extra periods, but that's how football goes."
Khribin also praised the fighting spirit of his teammates and the support of the Syrian fans, saying: "I am proud of what the team has delivered, and I thank the fans for their presence. We aspired to make them happy, and we hope they continue to support us so that we can achieve better results in the future."
