Mohannad Ali's Position on Participating Against Jordan
Mohannad Ali "Mimi" has raised levels of concern among the technical staff of the Iraqi national team after he sweated due to injury in the match against Algeria held at Khalifa International Stadium, as part of the 2025 Arab Cup competitions.
According to special sources: "Mimi, upon sustaining the injury, felt pain in the waist area and spoke with the medical staff of the Iraqi national team, stating that he would not be able to complete the match, and it was necessary to substitute him to avoid worsening the pain, as the injury could become more serious if he continued exerting effort and running on the field."
They added: "After undergoing precise medical examinations, it was found that the injury is merely a bruise in the waist area, so there is no cause for concern regarding his condition. He will undergo recovery training today, Wednesday, with his teammates in the national team to be fully prepared for the match against Jordan next Friday, but he remains under observation."
They clarified: "The technical staff of the Iraqi national team, led by Graham Arnold, relies heavily on the striker Mimi, as he is the most ready and is currently going through a phase of football maturity. He can lead the attack of the Lions of Mesopotamia given the physical instability of striker Ayman Hussein, who continues to be absent from the team due to injury."
They continued: "Graham Arnold is currently facing difficulty in achieving harmony between Mimi and the other forwards in the Iraqi national team. After the match against Bahrain and the inclusion of Ayman Hussein, Mimi did not adapt well with Ammar Mohsen and Mohammed Jawad. Therefore, he might change his tactics and plans in the confrontation with Jordan by relying solely on Mimi in the attack line."
