The head coach of the Algerian national team, Majid Bougherra, expressed his great pride in the level the players showed after the well-deserved victory over Iraq and securing the top spot in Group D of the Arab Cup. He affirmed that the team has regained its true identity in the last two rounds.

Bougherra explained in his statements after the match that the team showed a strong reaction following a modest start against Sudan, saying: "We did not perform as expected in the first match, but I am proud of the players' response in the next two games. We achieved what was required and deservedly topped the group."
