Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso appeared at a press conference following the 2-0 loss to Celta Vigo in the fifteenth round of La Liga, in the match held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The coach said in his statement: "We are all angry; this was not the match we wanted nor the result we were aiming for. From the start, Militão's injury affected us, making it difficult to reorganize the team. We tried to adjust some things, but the game did not go as planned. We need to turn the page quickly. It's just three points, and the league is still long. On Wednesday, we have the Champions League, and we will try to respond and get rid of this bad feeling."

He added: "Was the intensity missing today? It wasn't what we expected. We planned the match to play at a good pace and press against a strong opponent, but we lacked certain things. We understand the pressure, and defeats are very painful, but we have to move forward. The responsibility is shared by everyone, and everyone must work to improve things. We know the points we lose are important, but they are not decisive."

He continued: "Do you consider the match against City to be decisive for your future? We are playing for three points in the Champions League. We are in a good position in the Champions League, and that is what we are focusing on. We want to perform better than we did today, without a doubt."

He emphasized: "The referee's decisions made us lose focus. He did not take into account time-wasting and was interrupting the flow of the game, and he was very lenient. Carreras' card? I don't know... a very debatable decision. I didn't like the refereeing at all, and that affected us and took us out of the match at those moments."
