Renard Prepares Surprises in Saudi Arabia's Lineup Against Morocco in the Arab Cup
Sunday 07-12-2025
French coach Hervé Renard, head of the Saudi national team, plans to make significant changes to the Green Falcons' lineup for their upcoming match against Morocco in the Arab Cup being held in Qatar until December 18, 2025.

The match is expected to take place next Monday at 8:00 PM Mecca and Cairo time, as part of the third round of the group stage, amid widespread fan anticipation to see the new lineup.

Renard confirmed his intention to give the key players some rest after securing qualification to the quarterfinals, while giving the team's substitutes the opportunity to showcase their abilities and prepare for the upcoming matches.

In this context, goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi is expected to miss the match, with goalkeeper Raghd Najjar set to take his place. Additionally, Salem Al-Dawsari and Firas Al-Buraikan will be rested, while Saleh Abu Al-Shamat and Abdullah Al-Hamdan will be given the opportunity to play.

This decision is part of Renard's strategy to manage the players' efforts, especially given the intense schedule of the tournament and the strength of the competition in the next round, allowing the Green Falcons to maintain their physical and technical fitness.

The Saudi national team tops Group B, which includes Morocco, Comoros, and Oman, after securing a 2-1 victory over Oman and a 3-1 win against Comoros, ensuring their qualification to the quarterfinals without any pressure regarding the group standings.
