Syrian star Omar Al Soma issued a firm statement responding to the accusations directed at him regarding his alleged avoidance of the call-up to the Syrian national team for the 2025 Arab Cup currently being held in Qatar. He affirmed his constant commitment to his national duties and stated that he has never failed to represent his country.

At the beginning of his statement, Al-Somah praised the performance of the Syrian national team players during the Arab Cup competitions, congratulating his teammates on the strong level they have consistently shown in the tournament, and expressing his hope that they will win the title and bring joy to the Syrian fans.

The Al-Hazem Saudi striker clarified that what was reported from Firas Teit, President of the Syrian Football Federation, and administrator Mowafaq Fattah regarding his ignoring the call-up does not reflect the truth. He emphasized that he has always responded to the national team's call without hesitation or conditions.

Al-Somah affirmed that he will not engage in any media disputes during the competition period, in order to maintain the focus of the national team players and the stability of the atmosphere within the camp. He also stated that he will reserve his right to provide a full and detailed response after the conclusion of the Arab Cup tournament.

The Syrian Football Federation stated in media statements that Al-Soma received an official invitation to participate in the tournament but did not respond, which led some voices to call for disciplinary action against the player amid significant controversy among the fans.
