Atlético Madrid midfielder Alex Baena spoke after his team’s 3-1 loss to Barcelona in the 19th round of the Spanish league.

Baena said: "I believe the team played a very good match. These games are decided by small details, and they did not go in our favor. We must leave the field with our heads held high and feeling at ease. We have to keep going."

He added: "They are a good team, and when you leave them the ball, they cause a lot of damage. The game plan was to attack the spaces behind them, but they also do that well."

Baena continued: "We are still in the race; the league is very long. Last year in December, we were in the lead but didn't make it to the end. There are still many points left to play for; the league is long."

He pointed out the difficulty of playing away from home: "It's true that we haven't earned the points we wanted when playing away, despite delivering good performances. If we want to compete for everything, we have to win on the road."

Baena concluded his speech by emphasizing: "We must learn from every match and focus on the small details in order to achieve the desired results in the future."
