Former Kuwait Star Attacks Helmy Tolalan: He Did Not Respect Our National Team
Adel Al-Mushari, former player of the Kuwait national team and sports analyst, criticized Helmy Tolalan, the assistant coach of the Egypt national team, on Kuwait Sports Channel due to his recent statements.
The Egyptian national team drew 1-1 with their Kuwaiti counterparts this evening, Tuesday, in the first round of the group stage of the Arab Cup.
Adel Al-Shammari said in a television statement: "Helmy Tolalan, the coach of the Egyptian national team, showed no respect for the Kuwait national team or for what the Kuwaiti players have done."
The former Kuwait player continued: "There was no respect for the heroic effort made by the Kuwait national team players, and there was no respect for the fact that there are players ahead of you born in 2002 and 2005, most of whom are young."
He added: "On the other hand, the Egyptian national team mostly consists of players born in the nineties, with experience including those who have played in Europe, for Al Ahly in Egypt, and in African championships."
He continued: "We are a new team with a new coach and a new project, and our current goal is to establish an identity and give opportunities to the youth."
He concluded his speech by saying: "The coach of the Egyptian national team, Helmy Tolalan, did not respect us and spoke mockingly about us. He did not respect the opponent, and whoever does not respect the opponent, football responds to you... and it responded to you on the field."
