Macedonian Ezgjan Alioski, a player for Swiss club Lugano, shared details of his professional experience with Saudi club Al-Ahli, emphasizing that it was filled with memorable moments and significant challenges over the past years.

Alioski joined Al-Ahli in the summer of 2021, coming from Leeds United in England. He spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Fenerbahçe in Turkey before making a permanent move to Swiss club Lugano in the summer of 2025, where he played 40 matches, scoring 6 goals and providing 10 assists.

Alioski pointed out that one of his most memorable moments was winning the AFC Champions League for the elite, emphasizing that the experience was filled with positive emotions and unforgettable happy moments despite the financial and administrative challenges faced.

The player explained that the six-month delay in salaries created significant pressure, but he was keen to resolve the issue internally without resorting to FIFA. He chose a loan as a temporary solution before returning to Al Ahly amid major changes at the club.

Alioski spoke about Al-Ahli's relegation to the Yelo League, emphasizing that he did not want to leave the team, but he found that a one-year loan was the best solution to get through that difficult period.

He added that the relationship with the management and players was supportive, noting that coach Matias Jaissle wanted him to stay despite pressure from some parties within the club. This led to a difficult period without playing time, but he respected his contract and remained committed to staying in Jeddah.
