Albanian transfer expert Igli Tare on Al Ahly's agenda
Italian journalist Francesco Porizzo confirmed during the "Al-Montasaf" program that negotiations are ongoing between the parties, explaining that Al Ahly FC wants to benefit from Tari's experience in the European transfer market and to discover talents and negotiate to sign outstanding players.
Tare is 53 years old and previously served as the sporting director at SS Lazio for 15 years, between 2008 and 2023, before moving to AC Milan to take on the same role.
Al Ahly FC's management is relying on its extensive network within European football to facilitate complex negotiations and expedite the signings needed for the team in the upcoming phase.
However, Burizzo pointed out that Tare's strict personality may pose some challenges, describing him as "difficult to deal with at times", which puts the compatibility of his leadership style with the environment at Al Ahly FC to a significant test.
Al Ahly FC are interested in signing Tari after ending their association with Rui Pedro in September 2026, following around 11 months since his appointment in October 2025.
Al Ahly FC have approached Albanian Igli Tare, the former sporting director of AC Milan, as part of their efforts to reorganize their transfer dealings and grant him extensive powers to manage the club's sporting strategy.
