Italian defender Francesco Acerbi of Inter Milan has entered the radar of Saudi club Al Hilal, with plans to sign him in the near future. This move is supported and approved by Al Hilal's head coach, Simone Inzaghi, who knows the player well.

Acerbi's contract, who is 37 years old, with Inter Milan ends at the conclusion of the current season in the summer of 2026. However, the Italian club's management does not plan to extend his stay, as they aim to refresh the squad despite his significant technical value.

Inzaghi is keen on bringing Acerbi to Al Hilal due to his extensive experience in the Italian league and his ability to lead the defensive system, as well as his prior knowledge of the player's capabilities from working with him at Lazio and then Inter Milan.

The Italian coach believes that Acerbi will be a strong addition to the defense alongside the Senegalese Kalidou Koulibaly, as well as playing an important role in guiding the young players within the team.

According to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Inter Milan does not object to the departure of the veteran defender, while the player is expected to make his final decision, especially since Al-Hilal is able to offer an attractive financial proposal that could represent the last major contract of his career before retiring from football.
