Details of the Iraqi National Team Delegation's Trip to Doha
The Iraqi national team delegation arrived this evening, Saturday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, in preparation for participating in the Arab Cup Qatar 2025, which will kick off next Wednesday.
The Lions of Mesopotamia will begin their journey in Group D, which includes Iraq, Algeria, Sudan, and Bahrain. The Iraqi team will face Bahrain at Stadium 974 at 5:30 PM.
The Iraqi delegation is scheduled to depart for the Qatari capital at 10 PM and is expected to arrive in Doha at midnight. The delegation includes 21 players, with two more players from Europe expected to join later to complete the team roster.
The preliminary list included local players competing in the Iraqi Stars League clubs, in addition to professionals in Europe who will join on Sunday, completing the preparations for the tournament.
Since the end of the seventh round of the Iraqi Stars League, the Iraqi team players have committed to intensive physical training sessions in gyms in the capital, Baghdad, under the supervision of the technical staff led by Australian coach Graham Arnold, who ensured the players were physically and technically prepared before heading to Qatar.
The training focused on physical fitness, player cohesion, and tactical exercises that will help the team achieve the best results in the tournament.
